For the first Crazylegs release of 2016, Ziro links up with Dublin singer-songwriter Gemma Dunleavy on a heart-rending journey into icy R&B territory. Surrender pairs frozen trance synths with a breathtaking vocal performance from Gemma, who you may recognise as the voice of Murlo's Jasmine last year.
Ziro is on a hot streak lately - last autumn's Lionheart EP found fans in all corners, achieving an unlikely pairing of shelf space at Berlin techno emporium Hard Wax and a video feature on UK grime channel SBTV. December saw a 10" release of his remix of Rabit & Riko's Black Dragons on Irish powerhouse Glacial Sound. February sees him selected by Mary Anne Hobbs and Pinch to represent Bristol at the BBC 6 Music Festival and he drops a guest mix for Sian Anderson on BBC 1Xtra.
Surrender marks an impressive step into song territory for Ziro, and a taste of things to come in 2016. He's working on various vocal and instrumental projects as we speak - expect to hear more from him this side of summer.
